Two-4-Tuesday

Chinle Wash

On the second day of our San Juan River trip (September 17), we started early on our hike up Chinle Wash in search of cliff dwellings and petroglyphs.  Cynthia, Mike, Michael, Robert, and Zoltan posed for a group shot in front of the remains of an old cabin, perhaps dating from early prospector days.

After crossing the muddy creek over to the west side of the wash, we found what we were looking for.  An example is the granary built halfway up the cliff face and protected from above by a large overhang.
