Saturday Paddlers - San Marcos River

Note:  Click on any photo to enlarge.

It was another beautiful autumn day for the Saturday Paddlers as they returned to the San Marcos River.  Six paddlers put in at Rio Vista Falls.  Kathy, Ann, and I met them at around 1:30 at Westerfield Crossing.  While the early risers pulled over there for lunch, we ran the shuttle and then all nine of us continued downstream to the Scull Road crossing.  The river was running at a pleasant 160 cfs (based on the Martindale gauge).

Ann and Sally running Cottonseed Rapids.

Jim playing in the rapids and Reiko slipping by the rocks.

Waiting at the bottom of Cottonseed for the rest of the group.

Reiko, Kathy, I, Joline, and Jim enjoyed dinner at the Cottonseed Grill and Cafe after the paddle.  We were seated in the old vault.

Note:  If I can figure out how to upload video files, I will add the videos of Susan, Kathy, and Joline in Cottonseed Rapids to this post.
