Thirteen boats with fourteen paddlers made the trip from the Power Olympic Outdoor Center at I-35 to the Scull Road crossing. The river flow was approximately 127 cfs.

The all-important lunch stop was made below Cummings Dam, after the group (well, not quite the entire group) portaged around and down the right side of the structure.
The Saturday Paddlers formed the usual circle to engage in their second favorite activity - eating! Among the highlights were Robert's Blue Bell ice cream bars and frozen margaritas (with or without salt?) served by Henry.
Several paddlers started a little late and arrived at the dam a few minutes after the rest of the group. One of them, Tony, decided to take a shortcut - and add a little excitement!
Scott congratulates Tony - shaka.
Time to hit the water.
Jim gives the "thumbs up," while Mike Smith appears to have forgotten to bring his boat to the river.
Joline and Scott ignore the hordes pouring over the dam.
Nancy and Joan ready for the challenge.
Is that Mike Fox in the lead? Must be another Terrible Texas Summer Day.
Sandra searching for something that goes with pink.
Robert and his famous ice chest.

Joline about to poke Mike in the eye!
Cottonseed Rapids
Steve enjoys watching Joline's successful passage through the rapids. One wonders what he is contemplating.
Miguel makes it look easy.
Miguel glides through as Steve heads upstream for another run.
Meanwhile, Joline and two Mikes observe the proceedings from downstream. Is one Mike trying to break his borrowed paddle?
Steve fights the current in an attempt to gain the quiet stretch above the entrance to the main section of the rapids.
He almost makes it - time for a quick spin . . .
