Bobby's Big Birthday Bash #2 - Sunday

Bobby the Birthday Boy on the big day - Happy 60th!

Alan skips breakfast to enjoy the latest addition to Bobby's library - the 55th anniversary edition, a gift from Rick.

Mike, Rick, and Henry headed out for a late morning tour of the ranch.

A very large wasp nest near Retama Tank.

Mike marking his territory - again - near the Dove Tank pens.

Well camouflaged.

The covey of bobwhite begins to appear.

These quail can move!

Busy cutter ants carrying greenery.

The patron saint of wildlife?

A doe disappears into the brush.

Mike tries to hold on to his breakfast - too late!

Returning to headquarters, the weary travelers are spotted by a turkey vulture, ...

... a red-tailed hawk, and a caracara.

Mike regales the naive with tales of his manly adventures.

Chef Alan tending the burgers while vultures gather.

The motley crew: Henry, Rick, Birthday Boy, David, Mike (with his latest squeeze), and Alan.

On an early evening walk, Henry and Mike spot a roadrunner, ...

the ever-elusive windmill, ...

... and stealthy does approaching Retama Tank.

The setting sun appears to set the trees on fire.

Some nice views on the stroll back to camp.

Bacon-wrapped quail on the Barbie - delicious!

Goodnight, moon.
